A database is like a super-powered spreadsheet that can store, organise, and retrieve huge amounts of information quickly.
Relational databases store data in tables — similar to Excel sheets — but they can link tables together, which makes them very powerful.
Examples you probably use every day: Instagram stores your photos and likes in a database. Spotify keeps track of songs and playlists. Your school stores your grades!
